REAL LIFE.

somedays most days when i put stanley to bed...i am greeted with this. mess. everywhere. every room has been hit and i only have ONE child to look after. who knows what it will look like if i have any more! sometimes i try and take nice pictures. beautiful photos of my life, stanley, my work and what we're up to. tonight while i type this the house looks like these pictures. i'm typing right now in that desk mess ignoring the to-do list and the pile of papers i'm supposed to file... this is real life, sorry it's not pretty but i thought i'd share anyway. i'm too tired to get creative with the shots so you have it as is.

even the cat is sitting on pillows and cushions i've had out to wash and put away for weeks now. she's the only one happy with the situation!

hoping to post something more lovely looking soon....

  2. You're house look gorgeous, clutter and all! I often think would it would be like if rob came home and I hadn't been continually tidying things away behind theo as he went, you probably wouldn't be able to see the floor!

  3. Looks pretty good to me! :)

I also have the problem of cats making a home out of things I am halfway through sorting and the addition of cat hair to the situation doesn't make things any easier.

  6. I hear ya! I spent about 5 hours cleaning yesterday and didn't make a big dent. My daughter leaves stuff everywhere. My son doesn't make much of a mess, so sometimes two kids won't make a difference. Good luck with the clean-up!

    1. funny the difference with your two. stanley is actually quite particular about putting things back in the right place. he would have an utter melt down if i moved furniture about but somehow that doesn't seem to help with mess!!!

  8. I love this post. I am quite anal about tidying (not so much on the cleaning side though I'm afraid). However, with our first baby due in 5 weeks everyone keeps telling me how my house will always be a mess and I'll be fighting a losing battle. If it looks anything like yours on a bad day, I think I can live with it!

    1. i too i think was super tidy before S arrived. well, why not? what else was i to do?!! your house may not be a mess to start off with...tiny babies i don't think at first make mess, but you may be tired and not want to do the washing up/laundry, preferring to take the time to nap. and i would say please do nap. the house can wait! there are more important things! i think mine has got worse since he can get out toys, pull books of the bookshelf etc etc but i still look at it and smile...there is a little life creating that mess, not too bad really! good luck with the new baby. very exciting!!!
